The first day of spring brings out the gardeners on Father's Day
Posted by John Zeaiter on
A number of gardening milestones this weekend readers. Firstly (and chiefly) its Father's Day tomorrow, a time when Dads across the country get spoiled and thanked. I know I'm looking forward to breakfast in bed!
However its also the first day of spring, so perhaps its also the time for Dads to start shaking off the cobwebs of the winter and think of getting out in the garden. The temperature rise (at least here in my part of the country) has been noticeable and thoughts of gardening Dads in Australia may start to turn towards what they will plant for the warmer months.
Here at Evergreen Growers we've got Dads (and the whole family) covered. Take (for example) our range of conifer plants. If Dad's got a bit of room in the back yard (or willing to prune conifers regularly to achieve a hedge state), how about our Leightons Green Conifer?
Our information page for the Leightons Green lists it as being an extremely fast growing tall green conifer. The tree though can be planted as a shelter line though can also be used as a hardy accent tree. The broad spreading columnar habit is perfect for screening the neighbors, we recommend however please note the following
The Leightons green can grow quit large and is quite a vigorous grower. We usually recommend this variety for large blocks or acreage. To achieve the same result as in the gallery photo above, quite a bit of effort would be required and it would need to be trimmed at least 3 - 4 times a year to keep it under control.Conifer plants are just one of the many varieties of tube stock plants available from Evergreen Growers.
